William Aronstein

William Aronstein, PhD, MD, FACP

Vice President, Medical Affairs

Dr. William Aronstein is currently Vice President, Medical Affairs.  He has vast experience in early phase clinical development, including protocol development, execution, and analysis, as well as over 35 years of clinical, academic, and industry experience.  He presently oversees the Medical Affairs group in their many roles, ranging from medical monitoring and protocol development to business development duties and countless other responsibilities. Prior to CTI, Bill held numerous positions with Procter and Gamble Pharmaceuticals. He was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University and held multiple positions with Johns Hopkins Hospital, including Attending Physician, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Clinical Director of the Division of Internal Medicine, and Clinical Director of Ambulatory Care in the Department of Medicine. Bill earned his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Wesleyan University.  He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics and his Doctor of Medicine from the Johns Hopkins University.

Mike Bahm
 

Mike Bahm

Vice President, Global Information Technologies

Mike Bahm is currently Vice President, Global Information Technologies. Bahm has contributed to the growth and success of CTI since he joined the company in 2000. He is responsible for the Global IT department, including overseeing multiple systems,  managing international cybersecurity,  and acting as a mentor for his direct reports.  Over the past 17 years, he has been instrumental in building our infrastructure from the ground-up and supporting our IT needs through many upgrades and improvements, new system implementations, corporate moves, global expansions, and acquisitions. Mike earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Information Systems from Xavier University.

Melanie Bruno, PhD, MBA

Vice President, Clinical Trial Operations

Dr. Melanie Bruno is currently Vice President, Clinical Trial Operations, and has over 30 years of clinical drug development experience in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industries.  Currently, Melanie oversees CTI’s clinical trial operations for study management, safety and pharmacovigilance, and regulatory affairs.  Before joining CTI, Melanie served as Vice President of Global Regulatory and Medical Affairs at Kendle International. After completing her post doctoral work at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), Melanie held positions with Proctor & Gamble Pharmaceuticals and Eli Lilly.  In addition to her current role at CTI, Melanie is an Adjunct Professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati for the Masters in Drug Development program. Melanie received her Master of Business Administration and her Doctor of Philosophy in Developmental Biology from the University of Cincinnati.

Patrick Dearing
 

Patrick Dearing, MBA

Vice President, Global Human Resources

Patrick Dearing is currently Vice President, Global Human Resources, and has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources. Currently, Pat oversees CTI's Human Resources department including aspects such as employee relations, employee development and performance management, recruitment, and compensation and benefits.   Before joining CTI, Pat developed his expertise in various Human Resources roles, including serving as Senior Director, Global Benefits at Convergys Corporation and Director, Benefits at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Pat earned his Masters of Business Administration at Xavier University and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at University of Cincinnati.

Patrick Earley

Patrick J. Earley, MBA

Vice President, International

Patrick Earley is currently CTI’s Vice President, International, leading the strategic global expansion into Europe and Latin America, as well as the Clinical Pharmacology Unit initiative.  Pat also works closely with the Business Development team to provide strategic direction.  Prior to joining CTI, he held positions in the healthcare and insurance industries, with MetLife, P5 E. Health Services, Harrington Benefit Services, and First Health.  Pat received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from West Liberty State College and his Master of Business Administration from Xavier University.

Lorri Erhardt

Vice President, Clinical Monitoring

Lorri Erhardt is currently Vice President, Clinical Monitoring, and has over 35 years of clinical research experience. Currently, Lorri oversees CTI’s clinical monitoring function. Before joining CTI, Lorri served as Executive Director, Global Head, Clinical Site and Document Management for Astellas Pharma. Her prior experience includes serving as Executive Director, Global Head On-Site Monitoring for Kendle International, Director, Clinical Operations for Takeda Global Research & Development, and Senior Director, Head of US Field Operations for Pfizer (formerly Pharmacia/Monsanto/Searle). While at Searle, she was a key contributor in the clinical development and subsequent marketing approval for Celebrex®. Lorri received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology from Gannon College.

Bill Irish

William Irish, MSc, PhD

Vice President, Biostatistics and Health Outcomes Research 

Dr. William Irish is currently Vice President, Biostatistics and Health Outcomes Research, with over 30 years of academic and industry experience. He currently works in outcomes research, statistical modeling and prediction, risk assessment, competing risk analysis, clinical trial methodology, and large-scale database and claims analysis. In addition to his role at CTI, Bill is also Adjunct Assistant Consulting Professor in Transplant Surgery for Duke University. He also serves as Associate Editor for Clinical Transplantation. Prior to CTI, Bill held various positions with RTI International, SangStat Medical Corporation, and the University of Pittsburgh.  He received his PhD in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh and his MSc in statistics from Queen’s University.

David Mayleben

David Mayleben, PhD

Vice President, Research Site Services 

Dr. David Mayleben is currently Vice President, Research Site Services, with over 30 years of experience and expertise in the clinical research industry. Dave currently oversees the operations of the CTI Clinical Research Center (CTI CRC), a dedicated, multi-specialty clinical research site with multiple locations throughout Greater Cincinnati, Ohio. He also serves as investigator on numerous trials run in the CTI CRC. Prior to joining CTI, Dave was Co-Founder and President of Community Research, which was acquired by CTI in 2014. He also previously held positions at Clinical Research Associates, Inc., The Perception and Performance Laboratory at the University of Cincinnati, and The Center for Research in Sleep Disorders in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Mayleben received his Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Cincinnati, and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky.

Joseph M. McCafferty

Vice President, Global Business Development & Client Management

Joseph McCafferty, Vice President, Global Business Development & Client Management, has more than 35 years of sales and industry experience.  Joe is currently responsible for overseeing and training CTI's global sales team as it continues to grow and expand to various geographies. Prior to joining CTI, Joe spent over 20 years in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, working for companies such as A.H. Robbins Company, Ortho Biotech (Johnson and Johnson), SangStat Medical Corporation, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in roles of increasing responsibility. Joe received his Bachelor of Science in Management/Marketing.

Kathy Schroeder

Kathleen M. Schroeder, MBA

Vice President, Global Business Development Operations

Kathleen Schroeder, Vice President of Global Business Development Operations, has more than 35 years of IT and professional services experience that includes a unique mix of science, business, and technology.  Kathy is responsible for managing the people and creating the processes that support the company’s global business development operation functions. Prior to joining CTI, Kathy worked for nearly 20 years with SMS/Siemens Medical Health Systems in a variety of positions, and she also worked at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  Kathy received her bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Louis University and her Master in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.
